As we’re starting to near the end of 2015 (crazy, right?) we thought it was time to examine the most fun wedding trends we’ve seen this year and decide which ones we’d like to see continue through 2016.
1. A Formal Comeback.
While casual weddings have reigned supreme for years now, we’ve seen couples start to bring the formal back. We absolutely love the friendliness and intimacy that comes along with a casual wedding, but we also want this to be the most special day of the couple’s life thus far.
Creating an elegant, formal affair ensures that the day will forever be memorialized as a truly exceptional life event for not only the couple, but the guests as well.
2. Foodie Inspiration.
Forget the traditional fish and chicken options. Couples have taken to providing their guests with food or drink selections that perfectly showcase the couple’s tastes. Whether that’s a barbecue station, a beer garden, a bar full of specialty cocktails, or an artisanal array of cheeses, find a food or drink (or food and drink) that excites guests and shows off just who you are as a couple.
3. Technology at the Forefront.
As technology becomes more and more a part of our everyday lives, so too is it becoming integrated into weddings. Between special wedding hashtags for Instagram, drone wedding photography, wedding planning apps, and dedicated wedding websites, there’s a way to colorfully and practically incorporate technology into just about every aspect of your special day.
4. Non-Traditional Wedding Parties.
Gone are the days when you had to pick your bridesmaids from only the women that were around your age. You’re allowed to spice it up! Bring your aunt, your best male friend, even your grandmother into your bridal party. This is the group of people that will stand beside you as you say, “I do.” We love to see couples pick non-traditional wedding parties that truly reflect who they’re closest to.
5. An Authentic Wedding that’s Unique to You.
What we have loved above all else is the trend of creating a wedding event that so purely reflects who the couple is. Forgetting what’s expected in a wedding, we’ve seen more and more couples get down to exactly what is important to them. What they love, who they love, how they live, and what they want their wedding to be.
We’re inspired to help couples steer away from strictly following rules or trends and going with what feels right. The result is a wedding that, above all, celebrates the love between two people.
